The Power Module contains the Electrical Power Subsystem electronics. These are responsible for controlling battery charging and regulating, and distributing electrical power to all subsystems and sensors aboard the spacecraft. The Power Module also holds TOPEX/Poseidon's three rechargeable batteries, as well as electronic components designed to keep electrical power within safe limits.
